Travel Vaccinations and advice

Do you need vaccinations?

If you're planning to travel outside the UK, you may need to be vaccinated against some of the serious diseases found in other parts of the world.

Travel Vaccinations at The Sele Medical Practice

If you are planning to travel abroad and need travel health advice or vaccinations, NHS and private travel vaccines are now available through the HPCA Travel Clinic at the HPCA Hexham Hub.

How to Access the Service

If you would like a travel vaccination appointment, please contact the practice.

We will send your details to the HPCA Travel Clinic, who will contact you directly to arrange a travel health consultation. Before your appointment, you will be asked to complete a travel questionnaire via a secure link sent by email or the NHS App.

What Happens at the Travel Consultation?

A specialist Travel Nurse will assess your travel plans and vaccination requirements.

If you need NHS travel vaccines only

You will receive these at your appointment at the Hexham Hub, free of charge.

If you need both NHS and private travel vaccines

The Travel Nurse will provide the NHS vaccines during your appointment and advise you to book a consultation with MASTA for any private vaccines required.

If you need private travel vaccines only

You will be directed to MASTA for a travel consultation and vaccination plan.

Please note that MASTA consultation fees and any private vaccines are chargeable.

The following vaccines are available on the NHS where clinically appropriate:

  • Typhoid
